Making of our first Homemade Pizza !!!

On July 28 2013:

The day kicked off buzy. With a flat tire on my way to the camera store. Had to wait for an hour for my road side assistance in the hot sun. Now that summer is almost been a month ,im sure complaining about the heat. :P

Then finally back home.Did the laundry . Cleaned . Cooked and finally had my lunch at 3:00 pm. Again i was off to pick up my camera from the store. Then headed to the grocery store to pick up fresh produce. Finally made my way through the traffic to reach home.  

When i reached home it was 5:30 pm and my husband had already clocked in. As i entered our home and dinner topic raised. He said " Lets make PIZZA" . I am like wat? We have never made pizza before. He is like " No,No... We will try it ." Finally agreed and watched several videos on youtube - How to make homemade pizza. I should stop here and mention that we usually have pizza on a friday/saturday night every week. Thatz how it all started :D

We made the list and off to the grocery store again. We found all the items after searching and running around the store. Came home and started to make the dough and finally the pizza. I am writing the recipe below though i know the web is already splattered with recipes. This is for me to look back. :)

INGREDIANTS FOR THE DOUGH :   

  • All purpose flour - 3 cups
  • Active dry yeast - 2/4 cup
  • water - 1/4 cup
  • sugar - 1 tbsp
  • salt - 1 tbsp
  • olive oil - 4 tbsp



TOPPINGS :

  • Tomato/pata sauce - As required
  • Grated Mozarella cheese - As required
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Tomato - 2 chopped
  • Capsicum[any two colors] - 1 chopped
  • Mushroom - 1/2 cup
  • Jalapeno - 4 chopped
  • Brocolli - 1/2 cup
  • Olives - 1/2 cup


METHOD:

1. Take 1/2 cup lukewarm water in a glass bowl and add the yeast to it and stir well. Then add sugar to the mix to speed up the fermentation .Leave it for 15-20 mins . It will turn into a semi-solid state.

2.In a seperate bowl add 3 cups of All-purpose flour and add the salt. Then add the fermented yeast to the flour and mix well. While mixing add 4 tbsp of olive oil . The dough will be slightly sticky but that is fine.



3. Leave the mixed dough for 2 hrs. You will notice that the dough will be raised after two hrs.




4. Now take the dough from the bowl and make it into a ball. Now we have to flatten it. Add some flour on the board and flatten it using your hands first and then roll it. 

5. Grease the pizza pan with some oil and then take the flattened dough and place it on the pan. Spread it over the pan to form the round shape of the pan. Once this is done preheat the oven to 375 degree celcius.

6. Add[spread] tomato/pasta sauce to the flattened dough . Then 
  • Add Grated mozarella cheese over the sauce and spread them around the dough. 
  • Add Onions over the cheese.
  • Add tomatoes / capsicum/ mushroom /olives/brocolli and jalapeno over the onions.
  • Finally add some grated mozarella cheese over the vegetables ,so they will seal the vegetables once it is cooked.


7. Now place the pan in the oven which is pre-heated to 375 degree celcius. Bake for 20-25 mins until you see the edges of the pizza turn golden brown. Take them out and Voila Your pizza is ready. :)
